Former San Diego Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson has agreed to a 2 year deal with the New York Jets, according to several sources. No financial terms were released. Tomlinson played 9 seasons in San Diego, where he rushed for 12,490 yards and 138 touchdowns, the most among active runningbacks.

Cavs Top Celtics 104-93

The Celtics lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers 104-93 at Quicken Loans Arena on Sunday afternoon. Ray Allen led four Celtics in double figures with 20 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. LeBron James finished with a game-high 30 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists.

Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce each scored 18 points in the loss.

Cavs forward Antawn Jamison put up a double-double 15 points 12 rebounds.

The C’s return home to face the Detroit Pistons Monday night.

Bruins Lose in Montreal

The Bruins fell behind 2-0 in the 1st period before ultimately losing 3-2 to the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre. Blake Wheeler (16) and Milan Lucic (7) scored the Boston goals.

Andrei Markov had a goal and an assist for Montreal.

Tuukka Rask, starting for the 2nd straight game, made 24 saves.

The Bruins get back on the ice Monday night, on the road, against the New Jersey Devils. You can listen to all the action on 98-5 The Sports Hub, starting with the Dunkin Donuts Bruins pre game show at 6:30pm.

BU Falls in Conference Title Game

Matsuzaka shut down again

Daisuke Matsuzaka canceled his live batting practice today because of a stiff neck as he warmed up. Matsuzaka threw only five pitches before leaving the mound.

Welker Has Shoulder Injury

Multiple reports say Patriots receiver Wes Welker is recovering from a shoulder injury in addition to surgery to repair his torn knee ligaments.

Welker recently had surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff. There is no word on whether the shoulder will impact his knee rehabilitation.

Welker missed the playoffs after suffering a torn ACL and MCL in the Patriots’ last regular season game. He had reconstructive knee surgery in February.

Ben Watson Signs With Browns

The Cleveland Browns today signed Patriots free agent tight end Ben Watson to a multiyear contract. A first-round draft pick by the Patriots in 2004, Watson spent the past six seasons in New England. ESPN.com reported that it is a three-year deal worth $12 Million, including $6.35 Million guaranteed. In 2009 he started all 16 games, with 29 catches for 404 yards receiving and 5 touchdowns.
